Kecak is one of famous dance in
bali,kecak was created in 1930 by balinese artist,wayan limbak with his germany
friend,walter spies. They was inspired by ancient ritual called sanghyang,that was dance where is the dancer is unconcious,doing comunication between god and
spirit of ancestor to inform the people about the hope.
The dancer of kecak are very much and
usually was played approach of sunset,dominated by male,their number about more
than 50 humans and this dance without music instrument. Kecak is drama dance
because the scenario of dance is about story of ramayana.
Dancer of male wear black white
square pattern cloth,sit and make a circle,then they said "cak cak
cak",every dancer play different character.
The story of dance is about the wife
of rama,named shinta. She was kidnap by king rahwana,and hanoman the descendance of
king ape,wants to help rama. He brings ape armies and attack the kingdom to resque
shinta.
